Jalil Khayat Mosque is located on 60th Street in Erbil – Kurdistan Region of Iraq – and it is considered one of the most important landmarks of the city and one of the four most important mosques in the Middle East, in terms of land area, architectural construction , and the large number of domes and minarets. It consists of 63 domes, which is the age of the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad. The mosque was built at the expense of Jalil Khalil Khayat and his sons And it took about 10 years to build it. Work began on its construction in 1997, and it was completed in 2007.

From the inside, the ceilings of the mosque contain beautiful inscriptions and Quranic verses, a mixture of different architectural arts, such as the Fatimid and Abbasid styles. The great decoration artists were hired and they were brought from Egypt and Morocco.
