The Great Mosque of Mosul, (formerly Saddam Mosque).

It is located on the left (eastern) coast of the Tigris River in the city of Mosul.

The construction of the mosque began in the mid-nineties, but the work was interrupted due to the American occupation of Iraq, and it has not been completed to this day.

The area of ​​the Great Mosque of Mosul is 75,000 square meters, while the area of ​​the mosque hall is 6000 square meters, and it can accommodate 5,000 people.

A wonderful architectural design, consisting of a main dome surrounded by eight small domes.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to visit the Great Mosque of Mosul, only you can see this magnificent edifice from the outside.
